Default Questions for starting to plan a trip!

Hi
I was just curious on a couple of things. My friend and I an planning the trip to be about 1.5 months. Is that drastically too short of a time?
Also, what is the cheapest place to fly in to from Eastern Canada? It looks like Argentina is right now from what i've seen.
Thanks!

Default Time of travel in South America

Hi kec1,

I have no idea what the cheapest fare from Canada to South America is (we're located in Belgium). Your best bet is to check out local travel agencies. Traveling for 6 weeks in South America is just fine. It's best not to travel in more than 2 countries as distances are enormous. Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia are the Andean countries, very beautiful and still very traditional.

Getting around in South America is not a problem. Bus transport is reliable and cheap.

Best wishes,

Mark

Back for more!
Okay so we decided we are going to Peru for sure as I had already mentioned. We are getting a return flight from Lima so we are having a tough time deciding whether to do Ecuador or Bolivia along with Peru. I have looked into each country and there are things we would like to do in both countries, but i was wondering if you had any experienced insight since you have been to both.
I've heard good things about both so I was just curious on another opinion!
Thanks,
Katrina

Default Ecuador or Bolivia

Hi Katrina,

Great choice! Peru is absolutely amazing. I spent 3 months in Ecuador and 3 months in Bolivia. Both countries are breathtaking. It's a very close call. Traveling in Bolivia is more adventurous but also more difficult. And you'll be traveling on very high altitudes (3,600 meters / 11,800 ft).

Have another look at the highlights and make up your mind. Whatever country you choose you'll have a great time in either Ecuador or Bolivia.

Best wishes,

Mark
