Hi. My friend and I are taking a trip through Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile. One leg of our trim is from the island of Chiole north to Puerto Montt, on this leg we were hoping to do some camping. I have a few questions about this:
1) Can you camp in National Parks or are camp grounds your only option? 2) I can deal with camping in cold weather, other than that are there and problems camping in the winter months? 3) Does any one know any good spots with nice scenery? Thank you very much |

1) Yes, you can camp in National Parks
2) If you can deal with the cold weather you'll be just fine. Do ask if all routes are accessible before venturing into adventure. 3) Obviously Patagonia and the Lake Districts in both Argentina and Chile offer breathtaking scenery. A must do is Torres del Paine in Chile. Best wishes, Mark

Unless you have to make reservations or something, I would just wait until you get there and play it by ear. Its camping! You'll have fun no matter what. If you have to make reservations, do it anyway, you can always cancel. 11 people is hard to plan for- thats why I'd wait . . .
