hi mark,
still planning our route around s america , we'll be entering chile from bolivia and travellin south, but were wondering would it be easier to pick up places on the argentine border such as bariloche on the way down or just as easy to visit them as we make our way up through argentina? is the border crossings much hassle? |

Hi deec,
Border crossing is no hassle at all. You can visit El Calafate and Bariloche on your way up if you want to skip whale watching in the Peninsula Valdes. Keep in mind that distances are enormous and each border crossing may slow you down. Best wishes, Mark

It's about 17 hours to travel from Buenos Aires to Puerto Madryn, the city of whales, by bus. There are daily services running from Retiro, the main bus terminal in Buenos Aires. You can stopover in Mar del Plata or Bahía Blanca for a day or two.
Best wishes, Mark
